Okay, so I’m dipping my toe into Ayurveda for hair care. Let me start by saying I know VERY little about Ayurveda, and the pros and cons of it in terms of medicine isn’t the point here. What I do know about it where hair care is concerned is that it involves herbal remedies. And when it comes to any health issue that isn’t life-threatening, I’m all about trying natural remedies before taking a prescribed pill.

Anyway, in a nutshell, here’s what I know about Ayurveda: it is a holistic (whole body) healing system based on creating a balance between the mind, body, and spirit. It’s about promoting good health, not fighting disease.

Which is quote perfect for how I’m planning to try it out.

I joined an Ayurveda hair challenge that starts on Feb 1. I bought all of my products from Henna Sooq, who is hosting the challenge.

Here’s what I’m hoping to get out of it: fewer split ends and a less flaky and scabby scalp.

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I’ve had scalp issues for a while: for at least the past year. Maybe, just maybe, I can find an herbal remedy to deal with my scalp before I finally set up an appointment with my doctor.

Anyway, I’m planning on documenting how this particular Ayurvedic works for my hair and scalp.

NOTE: This isn’t a one size fits all hair care solution. It’s likely that not all of the products I bought will work for my hair type—my hair being extremely particular about products. But if Ayurveda is something you want try, it might help you decide by watching me first.

Okay, so here are the products that came with the challenge kit.
